Make Money

6 Easy Ways to Make Money While Driving Your Own Car!

An estimated 88% of American households own a car. Instead of just being something to take you from point A to point B and be a complete money suck (insurance, taxes, etc.), wouldn't it be great if your car can be used to make money? Here are our favorite money-making gigs for car owners.

Drive for Uber or Lyft.

This is probably the most obvious option these days. By becoming a Lyft or Uber driver, you can set your own schedule and be exposed to tons of cool new people who you wouldn't have otherwise met. For both companies, you need to be at least 21-years-old, have a valid driver's license, a 4-door-vehicle, and proof of insurance.

Sign Up to Carpool.

With iCarpool, you get paid money to pick up people for carpooling purposes. Unlike Uber and Lyft, you don't have to make any detours. Instead, you'll be connected with carpool riders going the same way that you are and at the same time. You don't have a fixed carpool group or schedule, so you'll always get to meet new people while helping to ease road congestion. You need to be at least 21-years-old, have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a clean and maintained car.

Shop and Deliver Groceries for Shipt.

With Shipt, you'll get paid to shop for and deliver items on people's grocery lists. Shipt reports average pay of $22 per hour! You get to set your own hours, and you'll receive a paycheck every week. You need to be at least 18-years-old, have a valid license and insurance, a reliable vehicle from 1997 or newer, and be able to tell fruits and vegetables apart. You should be able to lift 25 pounds and have insulated cooler bags to keep customer groceries cold.

Advertise on Your Car.

Carvertise will pay you to advertise on your car. You'll have a choice for what brand goes on your car, and Carvertise will have the decal professionally installed on your car. They will remove it after the campaign is over. You'll be paid on a monthly basis. You need to have a clean driving record, drive at least 30 miles each day, own a 2008 model car or newer, and have a factory finish paint job. Standard payment is $100 per month, but could be more.

Make $18 to $25 an Hour with Amazon Flex.

Amazon Flex will pay you to deliver Amazon packages. You get to set your own schedule and can be paid $18 to $25 per hour. You could deliver items from Amazon warehouses, orders from local stores, or even meals from restaurants. Amazon Flex is currently in more than 50 cities. Amazon provides deliver drivers with an auto insurance policy at no cost. You can use any car for Amazon Prime deliveries, but deliveries require use of a 4-door vehicle.

Deliver Restaurant Meals.

For restaurant meal delivery, check out GrubHub, Uber Eats, and and DoorDash. In addition to earning great money, you'll be sure to discover restaurants you never before knew existed. You'll need to be at least 18-years-old for Dash and UberEats, or 19-years-old for GrubHub (21 in Chicago). You can check out the other requirements on their websites before filling out the application.
