Apple Releases Beta 4 of iOS 12

Overnight, iOS users saw the release of Beta 4 iOS 12 and with it, comes a lot of changes. This is a developer beta release and we can expect the release of Public beta 3 to the public in the next few days. In the meantime, the new iOS 12 beta has been released to those who have signed up to Apple's beta testing program. On the whole, we can expect to see improved performance across all Apple devices and the iPad can expect to perform much like the iPhone X, preparing the market for new Face ID operating iPads.

The first change is the Time feature which allows you to view and control the amount of time you spend on each app. We have already seen the likes of Facebook giving users insight into their usage but now, iOS allows you to explore your usage across all apps. In addition, iOS 12 will group notifications which can be silenced from the lock screen and allow you to set Do Not Disturb for a few hours or even longer.

Aside for changes in time management features, the staple Apple apps such as Stocks, News, Voice Memos and more have been improved across all Apple platforms too. iOS 12 also brings users Group FaceTime, local multiplayer shared AR experiences and more. Siri has also received a makeover with Siri Shortcuts making it easy to save time and her enhanced intelligence means she is now able to inform you on food, celebrities and more.

What's more, USB Restricted Mode will no longer lock down after 1 hour. Now, with the iOS 12, that window has disappeared. Every time a USB device is connected to your Apple device, you will need to enter a password to unlock it.

As this is just a Beta version of the iOS, users can expect problems with data loss in terms of photos, notes or messages. In addition, users can expect to see problems with the App Store with apps failing to download at the first attempt.

Public beta testers and developers will be able to explore the beta version of iOS 12 for the next two months and the expected release date for the general public is predicted to be 18th September.
