A mere two days ago we wrote about Amazon's shopping bonanza, AKA Prime Day, and the figures from that day have already been analyzed. Wednesday Today, one of the largest online shopping websites in the world, said that sales on Prime Day surpassed the 100 million mark in terms of products sold.
"Biggest in history", was the term used by the company that uses Prime Day as a promotional tool for its Prime memberships, as well as Amazon brand products. Alongside the 100 million products that were sold, Amazon also registered a record number of membership signups, though they didn't get into specifics on the exact figures.
Last year's Prime Day 2017 was also a major event for Amazon, with a 60% increase in sales, putting it ahead of even Black Friday. While Prime Day this year was a success in terms of sales, the website had its fair share of problems that customers were not too happy about.
That, of course, did not stop them from shopping their hearts out and making products like First TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Echo Spot and Eco Show the day's biggest sellers. The Echo products are set to be some of the most popular of their kind with online shoppers. We're already excitedly awaiting Prime Day 2019 to see if it is going to be another Amazon blockbuster event.
